Genesis 1:25: “And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” Chapter 2 Vs. 7: “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”  This means that God FIRST created the animals, THEN created man as an afterthought.
