General • DogGone!  Is This a Dognapping Case?

Snatching up family dogs and other pets is becoming too frequent as residents of every community will readily testify. Notice the increasing number of posted fliers and notices about a “lost Dog” or cat that are popping up everywhere. Some of the animals do simply get lost. Unfortnately, too many are stolen, or in the case of dogs, they are ‘dognapped.’  Lowbred corrupt people steal pets for a number of reasons, many of which will not be listed here. This must be halted or better yet, stopped altogether, and it WILL if all of us keep our eyes open with thoughtful observation, which in this day and age appears to be essential in general. We believe that is what happened to a large Olde English Bulldogge and Full Mastif mix. His photo is below….

A beloved pet becomes a treasured member of a family, especially a dog who gives wonderful companionship, entertainment, and best of all, unconditional love. And that cherished member of the family would lay down his or her life for you or anyone in your house without a second thought. This writer frankly pities the person who has never bonded with an animal. When your faithful dog suddenly vanishes or is stolen,  untold distress consumes the owner who agonizes over the well being of this beloved pet…is he OK?....is he…alive?...and the unthinkable…is he being mistreated?

Those were the tortuous thoughts going through Ryan Webster who had driven to Antioch from the Sacramento area to check with the animal shelter in that town to see if possibly his pal turned up there somehow. The shelter was closed, taking an extra day off for President’s Day to comply with budget contraints. This writer met him in the parking lot.

Readers everywhere, and we have thousands, please keep your eyes open, espcially those of you in Northern California in the Lodi area.  I asked the man to please have his wife email me the photo and description of “Typhoon” which is below with an email from his ‘mom’.

***MISSING DOG***OFFERING $$$ REWARD***
Our newest addition Typhoon went missing at 8am on 02/18/2011. He’s not very familiar with our area. We have searched high, and low, posted flyers, notified local shelters, and vets. He has on a chain collar, and does have a microchip. Please help us get him home safely. Our family is devastated. We are located in Clements CA on Mackville Rd. 209-327-2080 or 209-663-8127. THANK YOU! The Webster’s

Editor’s Note: While Natasha has offered a reward for Typhoon’s safe return, please join me in helping to find him for his sake and his family, not for a reward but simply because it is the right thing to do. We should all take part in this. Please join me.  rev. austin miles
