For centuries, dogs have been unfairly blamed for “eating up the homework,” when school kids fail to turn in their papers on time. At least that’s what the teacher is told. But a cat that downloads child pornography? A serious matter indeed and a bad rap for a cat.
In Martin County, Florida, Keith Griffin. 48. of Jensen Beach was hauled off by sheriff’s detectives after 1,000 images of child pornography, were found on his computer. When questioned Griffin declared that his cat downloaded the images.(!) According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Griffin explained to detectives that he would leave his computer on and his cat would jump on the keyboard, and when he returned, “there would be strange material downloaded.”
Sheriff’s deputies weren’t convinced. Griffin faces jail time for 10 counts of possession of child pornography. The cat was cleared of all charges and set free. Since no charges were filed authorities would not release the cat’s identity.
