Society • Does Jesus Condone Hunting and Killing Wolves? Part 2

Considering the ‘laws of nature,’ where big creatures eat terrified little creatures with oftimes unspeakable cruelty, and replicated in ‘human nature,’ where man has perfected the worst kinds of torture of their prisoners and wholesale slaughter of millions as has happened in Communist countries and seeing Muslims who enjoy beheading people while it is being recorded for television, we can ask, “Where is God?”

It’s not just people who are violently cruel to other people, but also the human race has lashed out against defenseless animals where one can see smiles on the faces of those who have killed one like they just won a trophy.

We can ask, how can there be a ‘God’ when there is so much cruelty, sickness and death in the world?

HERE IS A MORE POINTED QUESTION: Why would God create such a world?
ANSWER: He didn’t.

The world God created was peaceful, joyful, and with every human need provided. The Garden of Eden, where it all started, was indeed a paradise, where God walked and talked with the first couple created on earth, who were meant to live forever.

There were fruit trees, vegetables and herbs growing, The animals were at peace with each other and with the first family.

Here is a point has been overlooked by many: Adam and Eve were vegetarians. Eating flesh was out of the question, even among the animals. This is proved in The Holy Scriptures:

“And God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb, yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.” Genesis 1:11.

Next He instructed Adam and Eve:

“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in the which is the fruit of the tree yielding seed; to you it shall be FOR MEAT.” Genesis 1:29. ( All emphasis mine.)

The next verse shows that the same was intended for the animals God had created: “And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb FOR MEAT: and it was so.” Genesis 1:30.

Again, their ‘meat,’ was not flesh, but herbs. That was all the body needed to replenish and keep strength.

That was the earth that God created.  In order to establish a relationship of obedience, before creating Eve, God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Genesis 2:16-17.

Lucifer, who came as a serpent, said to the woman, “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”

That was the first question to be asked in history. The purpose of the question was to cause doubt. Eve stammered, then said that God had told them to not to eat of the tree in the midst of the garden, neither touch it, “lest ye die.”

Next, the first lie was recorded in history, as the Serpent said, “Ye shall not surely die.”

Then the first humanist action on earth took place. Eve persuaded Adam to join her in dictating their own destiny, making their own decisions apart from God. She took fruit from the forbidden tree for both she and Adam. Disobedience to God is sin.

The moment sin came in the garden all hell literally broke loose. God was angry, they realized they were naked and covered themselves with animal skins, marking the first time an animal was killed, for their skins, because of their own sin.

They were driven out of the garden, there was chaos with their sons, Cain and Abel, one which murdered the other. Cruelty had come into life because of sin. And, death came in since eternal life was thwarted because of sin.

The original creation of the earth by God was beautiful. That beauty and purity was destroyed by sin.

The world we inhabit now was NOT the world created by God. Cruelty to others and to animals grieves God and at a specific point in time, we will all have to answer for any harm we’ve done to others and any pain and suffering we have caused to any of God’s creatures. And that will be a terrifying moment.
